Hi Fran! I got some great tips from your most recent video. I tried the brown sugar scrub and I swore I saw a difference already, lol! I just wanted to know, after scrubbing your underarms, do you rinse and then apply deodorant? Also, I know that you are more to the natural side of things. If you don't mind me asking, what roll on deodorant do you use, if you do?
Hey :) That’s awesome! It def works immediately! That’s why I love it so much. Yes, after scrubbing just rinse and apply deodorant. This is the all-natural deodorant I use.
A method that has been around for a long while to lighten and highlight hair has been one that uses lemons. The acid in lemons works as a natural bleach that is intensified and accelerated by exposing the treated hair to UV rays from sunlight.
Hey Fran Hey! I am trying to get out of taking my iron pills (I'm anemic). Is there anything that you would suggest?
I used to be anemic as well…hated those big horse pills. Try eating your iron! I usually get a great daily serving through spinach, white beans, hummus, lentil soups and dried fruit (mainly apricots). You have tons of natural options!
Hey Fran! I just wanted to share that today is my 1 year anniversary!!! A year ago today I began a 21 day vegan cleanse that led to major changes in my whole lifestyle. I have come across some amazing information, techniques, and support. Your page and YouTube channel have been a part of that journey. So I'd like to say Thanks! :-D .... In Beauty and Love Always... Wyzdom D.
That’s amazing! I’m beyond happy for you! Thank you for being sweet, too <3 My pleasure :)
Hey Fran. Love the awesome advice that you bring us daily. Do you have any methods/products for shaving/removing hair from the body naturally? Thanks. You are truly a gift.
Hey! You are too kind :) I stick with threading (for the face) and waxing (for the body) using organic products but if you want to try an at-home, healthy, DIY method I would suggest watching this (Part I) and this (Part 2). My best friend swears by this exact sugaring method/recipe and it definitely works! What will take some time is getting the right consistency. Hope that helps!
Hey!!! I was wondering do you know how I could still keep my hair healthy when your getting braids?? Because I'm tired of touching my hair so I want to leave it alone for like a good 2 months by braiding it with weave. Which products do I use??
hey fran :) im in misery im vegetarian since 2 years and and since 2 months i fight with the craving for meat, chicken to be exacly.. what can i do ? :|
Hey :) You definitely shouldn’t feel miserable over food. What made you cut out meat/chicken in the first place? Sounds like you weren’t ready for that kind of change. Think back to why you’re doing it and how your body has changed since becoming a vegetarian. If you find you’re still really unhappy, then I would suggest going back to a diet that makes you feel good. I never tell people not to eat chicken. That’s simply a personal choice i’ve made because I feel and look a lot better without it. If anything, just make sure you’re eating organically grown chicken! Hope that helps :)
I got a few texts and some twitter questions on how I made this so here is my Homemade Shea Butter recipe. Most people on YouTube have electric hand mixers and since I don’t, I had to improvise. So, here we go!
I know you get these a lot but I have been so negative lately and stuck in a rut and your blog is EXACTLY what I needed. Just making natural changes to myself and working on feeling better that way and hopefully it transpires to other parts of my life so thank you for the positivity and tips!
Hey Fran! You got a huge fan here in France, your tips on healthy foods & natural hair are wonderful! I have some pounds to loose, I'm eating super clean and organic but I think it's time to exercise! The fact is I have some knees and back troubles, I can't run until it is fixed, what do you think about walking (high speed) 1,5 hours a day and practicing yoga? Will it improve my weight loss or do I have to work out "harder"? Thanks so much! (And I'm so sorry about my english...!)
Hey! Thank you :) Walking every day combined with yoga sounds great! Your body will continue to lose weight as long as you’re eating well and drinking tons of water. The key to weight loss isn’t working out “harder”, it’s burning more calories than you’re eating. Also, you should consider adding swimming to your workout schedule, if you can. It’s easy on the knees and super healing for back problems. It’ll help strengthen up the muscles around your injuries as well as your body as a whole.
Hey Fran! Love your site and health tips. Do you happen to know any natural remedies for hereditary dark circles under eyes? I know for the most part I'll always have them but I wanted to try something natural that might help lighten them a little if possible. Thanks!
Hey :) Thank you! Try placing warm green-tea bags under your eyes and letting them sit there for 10-15 min, a few times a week. It helps with the discoloration as well as any puffiness.
Hey Fran, I developed seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp when I went natural 10 years ago. I found a Heather Lorraine jojoba oil (no other brands works) that will clear up the flakiness but it always returns months later. Do you have any natural remedies that will rid my scalp of this condition for good?
Hey! Here is an awesome reader-submitted post on an all-natural remedy for seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp. Tons of people emailed me saying it helped them so much! Hopefully it will do the same for you. Let us know!
