Thank you so much to Buzzfeed for placing me at the top of their list of “17 Inspirational Health & Fitness Enthusiasts For People Of Color”. That was great energy to wake up to :)
"The top four leading causes of death among African-Americans are heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. And according to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 60 percent of Hispanic-Americans will develop obesity and Type 2 diabetes. As we work to prevent these conditions, there’s nothing wrong with having someone on your vision board who, well, looks like you. Here’s a (non-exhaustive) list of people of color who are leading the charge on healthy living via social media.”
Amazing! Thank you!
I had the awesome opportunity of presenting my perspective on The Oil Pulling Method on the channel 11 morning news earlier today. You’ll see the doctor was skeptical of the health benefits (as expected) but I stuck to my purpose which was to present the information as clearly and efficiently as possible; in hopes that viewers would give it a chance! What an awesome milestone for Hey Fran Hey! Thankful. And thank you for all of the incredible energy and sweet support while it was happening!

ABC’s Nightline Segment on Women Of Color & Eating Disorders
Hey, beautiful ones!
I was recently contacted by a producer from ABC’s Nightline. If you’re unfamiliar with the show, it’s a late-night news program providing viewers with in-depth reporting on major stories in the news. She explained that one of their teams will be working on a story covering women of color with eating disorders and severe body image issues. They are aware that most of the conversation regarding our health has focused on obesity, our hair & the gym, glute injections, etc. This segment, however, wants to shed light on the other side of the spectrum. If you are suffering from an eating disorder, or if body image issues are severely impacting your life and you are willing to share your story…please contact ABC Producer Kimberly Brooks at email@example.com.
Thank you to Refinery29 for including me in this piece on 12 Beauty Blogs That Every Natural-Haired Girl Should Bookmark. <3
