The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is having a run/walk on November 22nd in 65 cities around the country! This run/walk will not only bring awareness to the importance of Cancer Research but will also provide more funding so the children/patients can continue receiving treatment without having to pay for the expensive medical bills. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food. How incredible is that? And 100% of the proceeds we raise will go towards the Hospital.
curlBOX has teamed up with bloggers to help setup teams in each city! I’m the team captain for New York!!! For those of you who know my story, I know hospitals and illness all too well and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help those still in need. I’ll be paying for my old medical bills for awhile, so the thought of someone receiving treatment free of charge is a blessing I have to be a part of.

Let’s keep being amazing and changing lives <3 Any amount helps!
I love you!
The internet is amazing. Endless opportunities, inspiration and information. But it can also be heavy for the mind. You battle not comparing your life to the seemingly amazing lives of others (don’t believe the hype), what people are buying, wearing, their apartments, their body, where they’re going and with whom, trying not to see what your Bf/Gf/exes are liking or who they’re following, your cousin or coworker’s depressing status updates on FB all day, feeling guilty for laughing way too hard at that meme you know was mean as hell 😩, etc.
When was the last time you layed out, took your shoes off and got some sun and fresh air? Just you and your thoughts? Just you and your friends or loved ones? We openly discuss beauty regimens, workouts and smoothies, but what good will those do if your mental health isn’t shown undivided attention too? Don’t forget to disconnect from the lives of others, sometimes. Don’t forget you’re here for a reason, too. Have you started the journey into you, to find out what that is? Don’t forget about YOU. The internet will always be there.
Have a beautiful weekend ❤
Thank you so much to Buzzfeed for placing me at the top of their list of “17 Inspirational Health & Fitness Enthusiasts For People Of Color”. That was great energy to wake up to :)
"The top four leading causes of death among African-Americans are heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. And according to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 60 percent of Hispanic-Americans will develop obesity and Type 2 diabetes. As we work to prevent these conditions, there’s nothing wrong with having someone on your vision board who, well, looks like you. Here’s a (non-exhaustive) list of people of color who are leading the charge on healthy living via social media.”
Amazing! Thank you!
Sending all of you full moon love from Harlem ❤ I just jotted down my intentions, for the second half of the year, into a journal. It feels good to take time out to recharge old goals and create new ones. Can you believe it’s already June? The days are moving faster and faster. Let’s reset our focus. What are some things you’re still hoping to accomplish this year? Say them out loud before going to bed and let’s make them all come true 💫
