DIY Strawberry-Yogurt Hair & Facial Mask
10 Strawberries (or as many as needed, depending on hair length/density)
1 carton of plain Greek Yogurt (or 2, depending on hair length/density)
Strawberries provide omega-3 fatty acids that fortify your strands and help your skin retain moisture. They’re also rich in B vitamins which help stimulate hair growth and promote elasticity for skin. The Greek Yogurt is a rich source of protein which helps your strands heal from the inside out and keeps your skin clear and glowing.
In a bowl, mash up the 10 strawberries (or blend them for a creamier consistency) and then pour the greek yogurt on top to create a strawberry-yogurt paste. Apply liberally from root to tip (on hair) and massage onto face until fully covered. Leave on hair and skin for 30 min. Rinse (both) with warm water followed by a cold water splash (closes cuticles on hair, reduces pores on face).
Nothing cooler than killing two birds with one stone! And using all-natural ingredients, too! Enjoy your glowing summery face and shiny, moisturized hair! <3 (and try not to eat it all)
Made raw & organic lip balm last night following HeyFranHey’s recipe - love the results! I’m allergic to Beeswax so had to tweak the ingredients a bit & also added a lil Peppermint flavor for taste - you can see everything I used & the final result at Suite7beautyTalk.com.
I see you used Candelilla Wax instead of Beeswax. That’s also a great alternative for Vegans! Glad you loved it <3
Mac’s limited edition make up line called Archie’s Girls! The ravishing rivals for Archie’s affection inspire a color collection celebrating their iconic personas. Smolder in deep and seductive tones inspired by spoiled rich girl Veronica or beam like blonde-next-door Betty in soft and innocent shades for eyes and face. So gorgeous in exclusively designed packaging!
Ok. I’m so not a makeup kid but this is dope! I used to LOVE Archie Comics.
This is a Bentonite Clay treatment.
Bentonite Clay was historically used by Native Americans for purification and healing. This powdered clay can be used for masks, shaving or for oily hair and scalp.
Benefits of Bentonite Clay: (In oral preparations) Digestive disturbances like acid reflux, constipation, bloating, gas, etc (Kaolin clay was common ingredient in medicines like Maalox and Rolaids for years)
Benefits: (In topical preparations) Helping with skin and allergy issues
To help provide minerals for the body
For all skin types and problems. Speeds healing.
If you are a natural it helps define your curls
It also reveals the length of your hair as you put it on.
You DON’T only have to be natural to use this it doesn’t matter what type of hair you have. Natural or relaxed hair, doesn’t matter. It cleans your hair better than shampoo!
I cosign all of this! And that brand is clean and great. I use the Aztec Healing Clay (sold at Whole Foods, too!) Video on how I use it on my hair here. Video on how I use it on my face here. Internal detox video coming soon! This powder is magic <3
Q:Hey Fran! I have dry skin (like, you can see the skin cells type of dry). I'm drinking 1-2 liters of water a day. I use black soap and I made a blend of shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut oil, olive oil, and water to use on my skin. What else can I do?! I really don't want to start using medicated lotions. I'd love to stay as natural as possible.
Hey :) As much as I love the health benefits of african black soap, it can be extremely drying! I remember using it on my face and it would make my skin feel so stripped. I would suggest swapping your soap for a nice, skin softening and moisturizing body wash like the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Wash sold at Target and Walmart for $9.99! And don’t forget to combine it with exfoliating gloves so you can remove dead skin cells and allow for your skin to be more receptive to moisture! Watch my Skin Health video here. Hope that helps <3
Q:Hiiii! I love your YouTube videos and your blog! I was wondering if you had any suggestions for like an "all natural" or "organic" face wipe for removing makeup? I about to start OCM for cleansing my face but I'd just like to wipe the makeup off before I cleanse....or should I not even worry about that? Thanks in advance for your help!
Hey! Thank you :) Correct me if i’m wrong (I don’t wear any!) but don’t most people remove makeup with oil? You can basically kill 2 birds with 1 stone by using the Oil Cleansing Method. If you feel you need an even deeper cleanse, try wiping your face (after the OCM) with alcohol-free witch hazel. The Thayers brand sold at GNC is awesome!
